A pilot unit for a cosmetics producer

A new application field and real life tests for NISKAE’s Canadian branch.

After the success of the laboratory tests on the client’s samples, NISKAE set up a SW200 pilot unit at the client’s facility, to allow him to get to know the process and functioning of the system, and to proceed to the first treatments.

A specific formula has been created to treat the wash water from soap, shampoo and cream production tank rinsing processes. This wastewater contains various residues from the produced goods. The treated water is sent back to the sewer, whereas the sludge generated by the treatment is sent to disposal.

The major difficulty for this client was to find a chemical formula that would match the varying concentrations of the pollutants. Moreover, the wastewater tends to settle at the bottom of the retention pond. For the future installation, it will be efficient to use a wastewater storage tank with an agitator to avoid any sedimentation.
