Our customer’s carpentry activities require the use of glues for product finishing, which generates some 200L of wastewater per day for washing glue application tools. At present, however, this water is stored and disposed of by an external service provider, at a cost of €150 per m3. This is why, in order to be able to discharge process water in compliance with current standards, or recycle it and reuse it as washing water, our Customer wishes to install a NISKAE wastewater treatment plant and ensure an ecological process for managing its effluents.

After receiving samples of our customer’s wastewater, our laboratory experts analyzed them to formulate the most suitable powder solution. With just 2.0 g/L of the flocculant-coagulant reagent developed specifically for our customer, we were able to go from a beige solution to translucent, colorless water.

In particular, this formulation enabled us to regulate the pH acidity from 3.92 to a neutral 7.80, and to reduce the very high concentration of Iron, present at 82.80 mg/L, to just 0.02 mg/L. Other heavy metals, such as Zinc and Copper, are also reduced to concentrations of 0.01 mg/L and <0.01 mg/L. What’s more, the sludge retained by the filter box is non-sticky and easily dewatered, enabling it to be disposed of as waste.

In order to treat or recycle its waste wash water into adhesives, our Customer called on NISKAE’s expertise to provide the necessary support throughout the process of acquiring an industrial water treatment plant.

Given the customer’s needs, NISKAE proposed a SW100 treatment plant, enabling the company to ensure that its water treatment process is both compliant and environmentally friendly.

 The proposed plant is semi-automatic, providing 100L treatment batches, and equipped with all the safety features required for safe industrial operation. In addition, there is a 500L wastewater storage tank equipped with a submersible pump and agitator to homogenize the water and prevent settling. The plant also includes a 500L clear water storage tank, equipped with a booster pump and a range of particle and anti-bacterial filters for recycling purposes.

Thanks to NISKAE, our customer has been able to benefit from real expertise in industrial water treatment, with a tailor-made reagent and complete equipment adapted to its needs. From now on, the company will be able to discharge glue wastewater in full compliance, or even recycle it as washing water. Once again, NISKAE has enabled its customer to save a considerable amount of time, make considerable savings and simply manage its process water in a more environmentally-friendly way.
