Waste water treatment units

High-pressure gear manufacturer relies on NISKAE ingenuity for SW200 microstation installation

Manufacturing customized machines and modules capable of generating the full power of an ocean liner, while ensuring the precision of a watchmaker - that’s what our French customer is all about. These products, designed down to the micron and achieving a non-negligible efficiency level of 98%, include cast-iron and steel housings. This production activity involves a high-pressure cleaning stage, where wastewater is stored, since it cannot be discharged in accordance with current regulations. For this reason, our customer, wishing to find a solution for its wastewater, turned to NISKAE to implement an ingenious and effective solution, enabling it to recycle the treated water as rinsing water.

Putting an end to costly wastewater storage

High-pressure rinsing of wastewater with oils, iron particles and detergents generates 600L of wastewater every day. At present, an external waste disposal company is required to dispose of the stored water, at a cost of €150 per m3. Fortunately, NISKAE has come up with a solution to this problem, one that not only recycles wastewater efficiently, but also generates significant financial gains!

Low reagent dosage for efficient effluent treatment

Following analysis by our laboratory experts of a sample of our customer’s process water, a tailor-made formulation was carefully developed.

The process water sample tested in our laboratory required the use of a minimal dosage of 2.0 g/L coagulant-flocculant reagent. This enabled the high iron concentration to be reduced from 4.83 mg/L to just 0.61 mg/L.

It’s also worth mentioning the lowering of Lead and Zinc concentrations to below 0.01 mg/L. On the other hand, the neutral pH value remains unchanged and the gray filtrate becomes translucent and clear, with sedimenting sludge that is totally dewaterable and non-sticky.

SW200 wastewater treatment and recycling unit

In order to recycle its wastewater into wash water, our Customer called on NISKAE’s expertise to provide the necessary support throughout the process of acquiring its water treatment plant.

Taking into account the needs and constraints encountered, NISKAE was able to propose a SW200 treatment plant enabling the company to ensure compliant and sustainable recycling.
The proposed installation is fully automatic, providing 200L treatment batches, and equipped with all the safety features required for safe industrial operation.

The microstation comprises an upstream pneumatic pumping station and a 1000L wastewater storage tank. For recycling purposes, the plant is fitted with a 1000L treated water storage tank, equipped with a range of filters, and a booster pump. As an option, NISKAE can fit out the collection manhole in the center of the washing area with an overflow pipe and a range of levels to switch the transfer pump to the water treatment plant on and off.

Our customer did not hesitate to contact us to find a solution to his wastewater storage problem, following which a coagulating and flocculating reagent was developed, enabling his treated water to be recycled as wash water, all in a responsible and environmentally-friendly manner.
