Waste water treatment units

Aircraft manufacturer purchases SW200 station to handle drain water from its scrubber-driers

Established in France almost a century ago, our Customer, a multinational company, designs, produces and builds civil and military aircraft. However, as part of this activity, our Customer stores its wastewater from floor cleaning operations, as it is not suitable for discharge into the sewage system. By making the right choice, he decided to put his trust in NISKAE’s unique ingenuity and purchased an SW200 station to treat his water and discharge it, clean and clear!

The right gesture starts here

Our customer’s production activities involve the use of scrubber-driers to clean workshop floors. Every day, these operations generate no less than 900L of wastewater. The main pollutants are oils, iron particles and detergents, which are unfortunately not suitable for discharge into the public sewer system. An external waste contractor is therefore needed to remove the stored water, at a cost of €200 per m3. Fortunately, it’s possible to remedy this situation with the help of NISKAE, to work out a solution that not only allows for compliant discharge, but also for significant financial gains!

Reduced reagent dosage for greatly reduced heavy metal concentrations

Following analysis by our laboratory experts of a process water sample from an application similar to our customer’s, a tailor-made formulation was carefully developed. Following a 1:2 dilution of the wastewater with running water and only 4.5g of coagulant-flocculant reagent, a significant drop in Iron concentration was observed. In fact, the Iron value was lowered from 38.10mg/L to just 0.28mg/L!

It would also be a shame not to mention the reduction in zinc levels, from 1.13mg/L to 0.08mg/L, as well as the stability of the pH, which was neutral throughout the treatment process, and finally the total elimination of suspended solids. In addition, the sludge has settled, and is now non-sticky and easily dewatered, leaving a clean, clear filtrate that was originally grey and opaque.

NISKAE’s SW200 station for clear, compliant water

With a view to discharging its wastewater in a compliant manner, our Customer called on NISKAE’s expertise to provide the necessary support throughout the process of acquiring its water treatment plant.

Considering the needs and constraints encountered, NISKAE proposed a SW200 treatment plant enabling the company to carry out the water treatment process in complete autonomy, from storage to discharge, while complying with current regulations.

The proposed installation is fully automatic, providing treatment batches of 200L, and equipped with all the safety features required for safe industrial operation. The microstation includes an automatic pneumatic lifting station and a 2000L wastewater storage tank, with intermittent agitation to prevent settling. The conditioned wastewater is then transferred to the SW200 treatment reactor at a rate of 200L per batch.

The best choice, within easy reach

Our customer didn’t hesitate to contact us to find a solution to his wastewater storage problem, following which a coagulant and flocculant reagent was developed, enabling his wastewater to be treated and discharged in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner. That’s why trusting NISKAE to treat your wastewater is a guarantee of innovative know-how and a unique approach to preserving water resources.
